Real Wedding: Laura & Lee
Guest Blog by Lisa Lent from Lisa Lent Photography
I met Laura and Lee a little while back and as soon as I met them I knew they would be great to photograph. They were just so fun and so full of life and love for each other. They got married on Friday the 30th April at Rafferty’s Resort at Lake Macquarie surrounded by a small intimate group of family and friends. The weather wasnt the best but it didnt stop us venturing out to get some photos on the lovely wharf up there. Special thanks go to “the umbrella man Dale” for helping my camera gear stay dry by holding an umbrella above my gear while I shot.
Even on an overcast day, Lake Macquarie has given it’s all, with an awesome backdrop for Laura & Lee’s wedding photography. The soft, subtle backdrop of Lake Macquarie has provided Laura & Lee with everlasting memories.

Real Wedding: Mellissa & Matthew
We were married on 1st March 2008.
For a whole week before our big day, we had torrential rain. As you could imagine, I was in complete panic mode. We were getting married on the foreshore at Toronto and I did not want a complete bog hole to have to walk through in my dress & heels. Nor did i want my guests to endure that as well.
Id’ spent that week making sure all final details were in order, ducking here, there & everywhere, nails, tans, hair touch ups, helping our wedding hire lady to decorate the reception etc… and all in the rain.
The night before our wedding day, my mum and I sat in the living room, listening to the rain,I was so upset thinking that first thing in the morning, I would have to make a zillion phone calls, to rearrange for our ceremony to be held in the Toronto Yacht club, which is where our reception was arranged for. We sat there & prayed, “Please God , give us sunshine.” After drifting off to sleep for the last time as some-ones fiance, I slept quite well, considering.
THEN… when I woke up, i could hear the birds chirping and thought “geez, there was quite a glare in my room” I opened my eyes and there was sunshine. I’ve never jumped up so quick . I ran straight out the front door thanking my lucky stars for this awesome weather.
Our wedding day was perfect. Our wedding was spectacular,(and no bog holes to walk through).
My husband to be was waiting, looking as handsome as ever, with our 3 gorgeous boys. This was the best day of my life.

Real Weddings – Tamara and Mark
Guest Blogger and local Lake Macquarie Photographer ~ LK Photography
When I think of a wedding which took advantage of the variety Lake Macquarie has to offer, it would be Tamara & Mark’s. They also happen to be the couple showcase the new Lake Macquarie Weddings Website. This lovely wedding also comes to mind as one of the sweetest and fun filled weddings.
Although Tamara knew she was getting married that day, Mark had kept all planning details and locations top secret. He did a great job of finding a perfect little rotunda with perfect lush grass, in Whitebridge, overlooking the majestic blue ocean, in a place you never would have imagined. Like this spot, there are literally hundreds of locations with great vantage points on the lake, beach or to the west of the lake in a bushland setting, just waiting to be discovered for your wedding.
Back to Tamara & Mark, once the ceremony had been performed, amid a little joking from Tamara’s father and a lot of laughter when Mark realised he had placed Tamara’s ring on the wrong hand, they gathered all their family in front of this fabulous scenery to take their family photos and some romantic shots.
After a leisurely car ride to a jetty in Wangi, where we captured more romantic shots. Guests then boarded a boat that was transformed into Tamara & Marks reception venue, caterer and DJ all in one. Mark continued the theme of ‘water’ throughout the wedding, for everywhere they went there was either the ocean or the lake. The reception was on a boat, their cake had shells complete with octopus bride and groom and messages in a bottle for them both. The mood was relaxed and casual, happy and most of all loving as they sailed off into the sunset of Lake Macquarie.
