To have your wedding ceremony at one of Lake Macquarie’s gorgeous beaches, you do not require council’s permission and you do not require the surf life saving clubs permission, but we do suggest you consider the following.

• If your having a summer wedding, check with surf life saving clubs for dates of their carnivals, what part of the beach they will be using and the basic common curtousey to inform them of your plans
• Do not expect the beach to be available to you if your wedding date is mid summer and you want the ceremony right in front of the surf club. The local surf life saving clubs will have precidents
• Do not expect that council or the surf clubs will be cleaned up specifically for your ceremony
• Consider a part of the beach that will not be jam packed with summer swimmers. While your ceremony site can be set up, no one can stop the public from being around
• Utalise the beach and it’s natural setting, keeping in litter free and clean when you leave
• Incorporate the ‘sand’ into your ceremony
• Inform guest that they must abide by local council and RTA laws when it comes to parking
• Why not provide your guests with bottled water & sunscreen if it is a scorcher

Think sun smart and also consider the chance of wet weather, but most of all enjoy your wedding day… your way!

As you know we will be hosting the 2nd Lake Macquarie Wedding Expo, at Club Macquarie on February 20th, 2011. In the mean time the Toronto Royal Motor Yachat Club will be holding a Wedding Expo.

I met Laura and Lee a little while back and as soon as I met them I knew they would be great to photograph. They were just so fun and so full of life and love for each other. They got married on Friday the 30th April at Rafferty’s Resort at Lake Macquarie surrounded by a small intimate group of family and friends. The weather wasnt the best but it didnt stop us venturing out to get some photos on the lovely wharf up there. Special thanks go to “the umbrella man Dale” for helping my camera gear stay dry by holding an umbrella above my gear while I shot.
